In the news package project I learned a lot of different interviewing techniques. I learned that I should make questions that get be long, and very good responses. I learned, about how to frame a shot, using the rule of thirds, and putting my subject in the right corner. I learned when trying to set up my shot for the interview, I should give my subject nose room. I learned about sequences for shooting B Roll. For my interview and B roll my partner and I took B roll, and interviewed a student in AP Studio Art, Rachel. My partner and I had some trouble getting the interview together, because the class were doing installation, which basically means they had to leave the classroom. My partner and I learned how to work around it. We included Rachel in our B roll with a sequence. I also, learned the importance of testing my materials before I leave the classroom, because that called for some difficulty. I had to redo my interview, at first because I did not frame the subject properly, but I learned from it and now have improved on shooting techniques. The editing process was not as easy. I had to find my best sound bites from my interview, and I had to use B Roll. I learned how to create sound bridges while editing, and I learned the importance of natural sounds. I really enjoyed the project and had fun conducting the interviews with my friend Max.
In the six word story project I had to take shots of objects or actions that related to a six word story that I had created. My story was about me having a lot of energy, which I have been told many times. During the project process I learned how to take different types of shots such as extreme tight, which really can bring out the true emotion of something or someone, and in addition I learned how to take an extreme wide shot, which really set the setting for my project. I took shots about all the energy I have, and all of the different forms it comes in. There were other shots that I learned such as birds eye and low angle, and high angle, which I also used in my project. In addition, I learned about other six word stories whiledoing research, and learned that even six words can have a very important message to it. During the project I had to reshoot some of my shots because the iris was either not properly adjusted or the white balance wasn't properly adjusted. I thought it was a interesting experience to get to bring home the nice cameras. I also learned during the editing process how to fully use final cut pro, and add transitions, titles, and color corrections. The color correction really helped me make the shot more clear or visible, and I used it for almost all my shots to make it look the most presentable.I really enjoyed the project as a whole, I think that it was a very educational, and fun.
That's what I thought, she said.
Charles Youel I like this story because it is a simple phrase that everyone says, but can have such a big meaning, and in some situations can cause tension, and problems. You can go your own way. Writer/Designer: Amy Rice I like this story, because it is very relaxing and open-minded, and also, it suggests that you are in charge of where you go in life, and nobody can stop you from achieving your won goals only you can get in your own way. Road tripping with nowhere to be. Writer: Maggie Harn I like this because I think that it is a funny story, and emphasizes that even when you don't have a destination, and this can go for life it is the journey that brings excitement, and the unknown that can provide enjoyment in one's life. I want to make you happy. Writer/Designer: Andrew Lawandus I like this story, because it uses a phrase that has a deep importance in relationships, and truly shows that two people love each other, because they will do whatever they can to make sure the other is happy. The people in the relationship are happy when the other is happy, and I think that it is a lovely thing. I just go with the flow. Writer/Designer: Andrew Lawandus I like this story, because it is a very relaxing tone, and is a phrase that suggest one is open-minded, and can adjust to situations, this is a trait that is very important in an individual. It has a deep meaning In the Headline Newscast project I was able to practice being on camera, and reading stories that I created. In addition, I got to learn about good techniques on camera, and how to incorporate the 5 W's and H into my news briefs. In addition, I learned how to be in the right posture while on camera. I liked that I got to create my own news briefs, that I wrote, because it made it easier to read. After watching myself on camera I realized that I did some things well, and that there are a few things that I need to work on. Some of the things that I did well, was that I spoke clearly. In addition, I went at a very consistent pace throughout my delivery. A few of the things that I need to work on is first of all moving my head, and not being so stiff. Also, I have to be more consistent with my pauses, because I continued to speak as if I was done with my broadcast. The inconsistent long pauses threw some people off. Also, I looked very angry,on camera.I need be less tense on camera, and let my character come alive. In conclusion, I really enjoyed the project, and I think it was a good learning experience.
I get my news from KSDK and Fox, because it is always available to me, and I find watching on television, is much easier than having to go and get a newspaper and look for it through all the sections. I feel it is important to know the news because one should know what is going on in their country and the world. People should not be isolated from the real world and the struggles and problems of the world. They then can form an opinion and make an impact as a citizen of the United States. http://www.ksdk.com/story/news/features/2016/01/21/photo-young-boy-helps-define-flint-mich-water-crisis-nation/79141050/
I think that this story is important, because this is a trending issue in our country, and people should be aware of the misfortune and injustice that occurred in Flint, Michigan and the lack of action their governor took. The article is unbiased and talks about the problem of poverty in our country and shows the blown up effect of poverty. In the article you are exposed to a community different than just your own, a place where a problem that may not be plausible for your common it has occurred. In the Television Studio I learned about all the roles in the studio and learned how to use all the equipment. I learned how to use the soundboard which controls all audio sound, in the production. I learned how to use the AJA, which helps to play the graphics and music. I also, learned the different techniques for the talent, such as slowing down and moving my chin at the beginning and the end of sentences. In addition, I learned about the responsibilities of the director, and that he is the person that is supposed to keep order in the studio. The director makes sure that everything is running smoothly. I liked the director position the most, because I liked to be in control, and I liked the job of supervising, and helping the production run smoothly. I enjoyed the responsibility, and the challenge. I also enjoyed the job of the floor director, because it was the eyes and ears of the studio. The most challenging job was the technical director, because there were so many buttons, that I had to remember and you had to be very quick when bringing up the graphics. In conclusion, the Studio Production experience was fun and I hope that I get to experience it again.
During the production of my I am iMovie project, I learned that photos can tell a lot about a person. During the process I had trouble finding pictures that represented my values and interests. In addition, during the production I had to disregard a lot of my pictures that were not quality shots, and had bad lighting. The part that I enjoyed most about this project, is that I got to tell people about me, and I learned about myself. Also, I learned that simple choices such as choosing a theme, can be difficult at times, and very important. In conclusion, the project was very fun, and I enjoyed and learned a lot during the entire production process.
